2. Special letters- including your VOWS. Trust me it’s better to write your vows down in a letter than to read them in a text/phone. That way you can frame that letter and gift to your spouse on your first anniversary— which is paper. Just like what we did! You’re welcome! 😉

3. Wedding garter and all accessories you will be wearing - your shoes, accessories, veil, jewelry (same goes for the groom). Bonus, include your Something new, Something blue and Something borrowed!

1. Being shocked and stress to sudden changes. Expect the unexpected. Weddings are when everything goes so fast, could be chaotic and everything unexpected happens! Road block making your vendors late? Forgetting your veil—which you thought you already packed? Sudden rain or snow that was never in the forecast?

✅ Ask your MOH or trusted family member to double-triple check the things you need to bring on the wedding venue. Always have backup plans B, C, D for unexpected weather especially our Alberta Mountain weather here—bring clear umbrellas or have a backup location for your ceremony/portraits etc. You can always ask for advice for locations or spots from your chosen photographer. Whatever you think might not happen, there’s a bigger probability that it could happen!

2. Freaking out on your Wedding due to DELAYS delays delays. There will always be a delay somewhere even in a perfectly curated Wedding timeline. Something might happen that will affect all the consecutive events of your Most Important day! No matter how perfectly detailed the plan is, it’s still a plan and no guarantee that everything will go perfectly. Make sure you have room in your timeline for adjustments and alternatives. You just have to be prepared for whatever might come.

I guess it’s one of my super powers 🦸‍♀️😉 I don’t expect your kids to behave on your photoshoot—nobody is. My daughter doesn’t. Nobody should. We’ve got to embrace the beauty of chaos, this is the NOW. This ‘now’ is what you’ll be missing once your kids are all grown up and have their own worlds, distant from us. When that time comes we’ll be wishing we could go back in time when they used to BEG us to play with them longer.. or when they asked for more tickles or when they keep showing off their new art or new trick they learned.. repeatedly. Are you getting emotional just thinking about it? Me too!! 🥺

We want to FREEZE THE NOW because all the personalities, quirks, energy, smiles and laughters (even cries) of your kids are what makes them special and unique —that’s what we’re trying to capture.

When you shift your mindset to ‘let kids be kids’ then you’ll have a more relaxed and positive energy in your family photoshoot! This will reflect in your photos. When that happens, we get to capture your family’s authentic dynamic and love for each other! Your photos would be heartfelt, have sooo much more meaning and impact to your family, especially to your kids—be it as their core memories or the legacy you leave behind. 💕🙌

Looking back at my childhood, I remember Christmas season being one of the happiest times of the year! All of our families coming together, having a meal together, sharing laughters as we go down the memory lane of reminiscing our happy and funny memories, take family photos together and going to church to celebrate the real reason behind the season 🙏.

AS A KID, THAT WAS THE ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS for me and I’ve hold on to that core memory all my life. That was what I was looking forward the whole year— BEING TOGETHER WITH MY FAMILY.. not the presents, nor all the other fluff of the season. Whenever I reminisce on that, it makes me happy and long for that feeling again since we’re not all together now.
I want to give THAT EXPERIENCE to my daughter too. A FAMILY EXPERIENCE THAT SHE WOULD REMEMBER and HOLD CLOSE TO HER HEART. A family tradition that would be a CORE MEMORY OF HER CHILDHOOD. A Christmas memory that would make her smile and *hopefully* try to re-make with her own family in the future. 🥹

Sneak peeks of our in-home Newborn and Lifestyle Session!! What a beautiful family and journey towards Family Life!! 🙌 I was so amazed and inspired on how this family got through all those challenges before them! 🥹

Baby T came early and had to stay in NICU so it was even more challenging for their family as first-time parents.. but they all powered through and was so resilient that when baby T came out they wanted to do this shoot to commemorate their journey and celebrate BEING FINALLY TOGETHER AT HOME ❤️ How beautiful and amazing is that?! 😭

Sometimes life gets sooo busy we forget that the being physically together with your family is such a blessing and makes our life sooo much better!! ❤️🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒
